Mommy Makeover Surgery
Return to Your Pre-Pregnancy Physique
Pregnancy and breastfeeding certainly take a physical toll on a woman’s body, especially the breasts and abdominal area. Loose skin, separated abdominal muscles and pockets of excess fat are very common. A great option to restore pre-baby curves and contours is to undergo mommy makeover with plastic surgeon Dr. Anshu Gupta. Dr. Gupta is diligent about planning and customizing mommy makeovers and delivering fantastic results. Your mommy makeover will combine several procedures targeted to the areas of your body that you wish to improve.
More about the Mommy Makeover Procedure
Mommy makeover treatment plans typically include any combination of the following breast and body procedures:
Your mommy makeover treatment plan will be carefully planned out to ensure that it meets your unique needs and goals. No two mommy makeovers are alike. For example, if your breasts sag, your nipples point downward and you have loose skin on your lower abdomen, Dr. Gupta will recommend a combination breast lift with tummy tuck to target those areas. If your breasts are still relatively perky but are significantly smaller after nursing, breast augmentation with implants would be advised. Liposuction can also be incorporated into your mommy makeover if you have localized areas of surplus fat. Some women may choose to have Brazilian butt lift to add shape and definition to a flat and saggy buttocks.
Other procedures, such as facial rejuvenation and vaginoplasty, are also available with Dr. Gupta, should a patient desire either of those options.
Your mommy makeover procedures may be combined into one operation, or staged out separately. During consultation, Dr. Gupta will recommend the approach he feels most confident about, based on several factors. While it’s important to avoid too lengthy of an operation (presents greater risk), staging the procedures out requires multiple recovery periods, which women may find challenging.
The timing of your mommy makeover is important. You should plan your mommy makeover when your post-baby weight has stabilized and you do not plan to have more biological children in the future. Future weight gain would alter the results of your makeover.
Recovering from Mommy Makeover
After breast and body surgery, side effects like bruising, swelling, soreness and limited range of motion are common. Plenty of rest and relaxation is key to a quick and complication-free healing period. You need to avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting (including lifting children!) and exercise while your body heals. Plan for a spouse, parent or friend to help you with normal household chores and childcare, so you can focus on your recovery.
Dr. Gupta will check in with you throughout your recovery to ensure your body is healing properly. He can also answer your questions and let you know when it is safe to go back to work, start exercising again and lifting your children.
You should see initial results shortly after your mommy makeover, with results continuing to improve as the swelling dissipates.
