All About
Mommy Makeovers
A Mommy Makeover is a term used to describe a personalized combination of plastic surgery procedures designed to restore and enhance your body after pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Each Mommy Makeover is completely customized to your unique needs and goals—no two are alike. Common procedures often include a tummy tuck, breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction, but your plan will be tailored specifically to address the areas you wish to improve and help you feel confident in your post-pregnancy body.

Why get a Mommy Makeover?
-
This combination of procedures addresses multiple areas—such as the breasts, abdomen, hips, and thighs—for a comprehensive transformation that enhances your overall silhouette.
-
Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can significantly change the body. A Mommy Makeover helps restore your natural shape and contours, allowing you to feel more like yourself again.
-
Procedures like tummy tuck and breast lift help remove loose, stretched skin and tighten the underlying tissues for a firmer, more youthful appearance.
-
Beyond physical changes, a Mommy Makeover can help you regain confidence and comfort in your body, improving the way you look and feel in everyday life.

The Procedure
Here’s what you can expect during your Mommy Makeover procedure.
-
You will be placed under general anesthesia for your comfort and safety.
A Mommy Makeover is a custom combination of procedures tailored to your body and goals—most commonly including a tummy tuck and breast surgery (augmentation, lift, or reduction).
Before surgery, Dr. Gupta will mark the planned incisions and confirm the surgical plan.
-
The procedure typically begins with a tummy tuck to address excess skin, stretch marks, and weakened abdominal muscles (diastasis recti).
An incision is made low on the abdomen (below the bikini line), and excess skin and fat are removed. The abdominal muscles are tightened and repaired to restore core strength and a flatter contour.
-
Liposuction may be performed on the flanks, waist, hips, or bra roll to improve overall body contour and enhance the tummy tuck results.
Liposuction is often added to create a smoother, more sculpted silhouette.
-
Next, Dr. Gupta will perform your breast procedure, based on your goals:
Breast augmentation to restore lost volume
Breast lift (mastopexy) to correct sagging
Implant exchange
Breast Reduction (for a lifted, youthful result)
-
All incisions are closed in multiple internal layers to provide long-lasting support and promote healing.
Waterproof dressings are applied, and you’ll wake up in a supportive compression garment and/or surgical bra, depending on the procedures performed.
-
This is an outpatient procedure, and you’ll go home the same day with detailed post-operative instructions.
Most patients need 2–3 weeks of downtime, avoiding heavy lifting and strenuous activity.
You’ll wear your compression garments for 4–6 weeks to help reduce swelling and support healing. Follow-up visits will be scheduled to monitor your recovery and results.

Common Mommy Makeover Combinations
A Mommy Makeover typically combines a body procedure—such as a tummy tuck or liposuction—with a breast procedure, like a breast lift, augmentation, or reduction. This customized approach addresses the most common physical changes after pregnancy, helping to restore and reshape both the midsection and breasts for a more balanced, youthful figure.
Common Breast Procedures
Breast Augmentation
Enhances breast size and shape using implants for a fuller, more balanced look.
Breast Lift
Raises and reshapes sagging breasts to restore a more youthful, perky appearance.
Breast Reduction
Reduces breast size to relieve discomfort and create a lighter, more proportional breast shape.
Add on an Internal Bra!
Support That Lasts. Confidence That Shows.
-
Think of it as an internal sports bra—a hidden support system placed inside your body to help lift, shape, and hold your breasts in place long after surgery. At Verve Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gupta uses advanced mesh materials like Galatea and TIGR to create a secure internal framework that becomes part of your natural anatomy over time. It’s a game-changer for long-lasting, sculpted results.
-
During your procedure, Dr. Gupta places a soft, flexible mesh inside the breast to act as internal scaffolding. This mesh reinforces the tissue and helps prevent issues like sagging or implant shifting.
-
An internal bra can elevate the results of many breast surgeries, including:
Breast Augmentation – for stable implant placement and longer-lasting fullness
Breast Lift – to maintain shape and fight gravity over time
Breast Reduction – for added internal support after tissue removal
Revision Surgery – to correct issues like implant bottoming out or tissue laxity
-
Acts like an internal sports bra
Prevents sagging and implant displacement
Enhances cleavage, shape, and lift
Long-term support and stability
Seamlessly integrates with your own tissue
-
No! Internal bras are not one size fits all. The type, size, and placement of the mesh are carefully customized by Dr. Gupta based on your anatomy, surgical goals, and level of support needed.
Common Body Procedures
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Removes excess skin and tightens abdominal muscles to create a flatter, firmer midsection.
Back Lift
A back lift removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower back to create a smoother, more contoured appearance.

[Stephanie, mommy makeover patient, talking to the camera like an interview]
I am a mother of five, as any woman knows after having even one child,
[Photo of Stephanie with her husband and children]
you know your body structure changes.
[Stephanie, mommy makeover patient, talking to the camera like an interview]
So the biggest thing for me that was an issue was always my abdomen, my middle section. Trying to find clothing that could hide my stomach,

high waisted mom jeans, you know, getting spanks or body shapers that could really hold my stomach in,

even swimwear, that was, you know for sure, one piece, that could control my stomach.

So we went and met with the other plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, and then I believe it was a week later that we came in with Dr. Gupta. So we did have another surgeon to measure against and I mean it didn’t, he blew the other surgeon out of the water, his expertise and the way he listened.

And just honestly I think the overall confidence that I felt in his skills as a surgeon and working in the medical field,
[Stephanie, mommy makeover patient, talking to the camera like an interview]
I recognized that and his confidence and that was a really, really big thing to me. So I had the Mommy Makeover in July of this year, so roughly about five months ago and for me, the Mommy Makeover was an abdominoplasty that included liposuction in multiple areas throughout my side, stomach and back. I also had implants put in and a breast lift done.

Honestly, the results have been better than I could have expected.
[Stephanie admiring the results post procedure in front of a mirror]
I have more of an hourglass figure that I don’t think I probably had since my early 20s. My stomach is just, I cannot hold it in, it holds itself in.
[Stephanie, mommy makeover patient, talking to the camera like an interview]
Everything is very flat and tight. There’s no way I could have achieved this in the gym, on my own, I’ve tried.

Shopping for clothes that I haven’t been able to shop for.

Low-waisted jeans, you know, not having to worry about covering up my stomach, it just opens up an entire new area for me.
[Stephanie in a consultation appointment with Dr. Gupta]
I’ve already recommended Dr. Gupta to multiple women, multiple moms that I know are definitely looking for something like this.
[Stephanie in a consultation appointment with Dr. Gupta]
It’s as good of results as I could have ever expected to have achieved for sure.

FAQs
-
It’s best to wait until your body has fully healed after childbirth and you have finished breastfeeding, which is usually around 6 to 12 months postpartum.
-
Yes, but future pregnancies can affect your results. Many patients choose to complete their families before surgery for the best long-term outcomes.
-
Combining procedures is generally safe and often preferred for a more comprehensive transformation and single recovery period, but safety depends on your health and surgeon’s evaluation.
-
Most breast procedures performed during a Mommy Makeover do not interfere with breastfeeding, but it’s important to discuss your plans with Dr. Gupta before surgery.
-
With a healthy lifestyle and stable weight, the results of a Mommy Makeover can last many years, though natural aging will continue.
-
Recovery from a Mommy Makeover varies depending on the number and type of procedures performed, but most patients can expect about 2 to 3 weeks of initial downtime. You’ll need to avoid heavy lifting, including picking up children, for several weeks, and you may experience swelling, bruising, and soreness as your body heals. Most people gradually return to light activities within 2 weeks and full activities, including exercise, around 6 to 8 weeks, with final results continuing to improve over the following months.
-
While commonly performed after pregnancy, Mommy Makeovers can benefit anyone seeking to restore or enhance their body contour after significant changes like weight loss or aging.
