Nipple and Areola Paramedical Tattooing
Paramedical Nipple and Areola Tattooing
Paramedical nipple and areola tattooing is a restorative technique used to recreate the appearance of the nipple and areola after breast reconstruction surgery. This 3D tattooing method provides a natural-looking result that helps restore confidence and a sense of wholeness.
Why get paramedical nipple and areola tattooing?
-
This tattooing technique recreates the appearance of a natural nipple and areola after breast reconstruction.
-
Many patients feel more complete and confident in their bodies after restoring this final detail.
-
The procedure is minimally invasive, with little to no recovery time needed.
-
Color, size, and shape are tailored to match your skin tone and desired outcome for the most realistic look possible.

Hear from a Patient:
Jessica K
“From my mastectomy and reconstruction with tissue expanders and then implants, through nipple reconstruction and fat replacement, to areola tattooing with the most incredibly talented Tina, there is not a moment that they have not helped me navigate and held my hand through. And.... my breasts now look better than anything I ever had naturally! But since the real ones were trying to kill me, I LOVE the ones Dr Gupta and Tina made sure I took home!”
The Service
Here’s what you can expect during your nipple and areola tattooing service.
-
Dr. Gupta’s team begins with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals, select pigment colors, and determine the ideal size, shape, and placement of the areola. During this visit, you’ll also decide whether you’d like to move forward with nipple reconstruction, where Dr. Gupta surgically creates a 3D nipple bud. If you choose not to undergo reconstruction, our skilled paramedical tattoo artist will instead create a 3D tattooed nipple during your appointment for a highly realistic, dimensional result.
-
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepped to ensure a sterile environment, and a numbing cream is applied to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.
-
Using precise measurements and your input, the artist maps out the areola and nipple design directly on your skin to guide the tattooing process.
-
Using specialized tattooing techniques, natural pigments are deposited into the skin in layers to create a realistic, 3D appearance of the nipple and areola.
-
You’ll be given specific aftercare instructions to protect the area as it heals, including keeping it clean, avoiding sun exposure, and applying a healing ointment. Most patients experience mild scabbing and complete healing within 7–10 days. Once the tattoo has fully settled, we offer a complimentary touch-up to perfect the color, shape, or definition if needed.
