Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to restore lost volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. Made from substances like hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring molecule in the skin), they provide instant results with little to no downtime. Frequently Asked Questions about Dermal Fillers?

  • Dermal fillers are injectable gels—typically made of hyaluronic acid—that restore volume, smooth fine lines, and enhance facial contours. Common treatment areas include the cheeks, lips, under eyes, jawline, and nasolabial folds.

  • “Pillow face” refers to an unnatural, overfilled appearance caused by using too much filler or placing it incorrectly. At Verve, Dr. Gupta takes a conservative, artistic approach to create natural, balanced results—never overdone.

  • The longevity of fillers depends on the product and treatment area, but most last between 6 to 18 months. Thicker fillers used in deeper areas like the cheeks may last longer than those used in the lips or around the mouth.

  • Yes—most hyaluronic acid fillers naturally break down and dissolve over time. If needed, they can also be dissolved sooner using an enzyme called hyaluronidase for correction or adjustment.

  • Downtime is typically minimal. You may experience swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, which usually resolves in a few days. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
