Here’s what you can expect during your breast augmentation procedure.

    • You’ll be placed under general anesthesia for your comfort and safety.

    • Dr. Gupta will mark the gluteal region to determine implant placement and incision location based on your anatomy and goals.

    • A small incision is typically made in the gluteal crease (the natural fold between the buttocks) to help conceal any scarring.

    • This location provides direct access to the gluteal muscle for implant placement.

    • Dr. Gupta creates a precise pocket within the gluteal muscle (intramuscular placement) to hold the implant securely.

    • This technique offers a natural look and feel while minimizing the risk of implant visibility or shifting.

    • Solid silicone buttock implants are inserted into each pocket and adjusted for balance, symmetry, and projection.

    • Implant size and shape are chosen based on your desired outcome and body proportions.

    • The incisions are closed in multiple layers for strength and optimal healing.

    • Sterile dressings are applied, and you will be placed in a compression garment to support healing and reduce swelling

    • This is typically an outpatient surgery, and you’ll go home the same day.

    • You'll need to avoid sitting or lying directly on your buttocks for 2–3 weeks.

    • Most patients return to light activities in 2 weeks and full activity in 6–8 weeks.

    • Final results become visible as swelling subsides over 3–6 months.

  • No. You will not be able to feel the implant. The implant will be placed in-between your gluteal muscle; therefor, your own muscle will be palpable, not the implant.

  • No. The implant is secure in the intergluteal muscle space. If the implant is placed on top of the muscle, it does have the potential to move or flip more easily.

  • We recommend avoiding putting pressure on the buttocks for 6 weeks. This is important to ensure proper healing and not to disturb the implant placement. There are special pillows and positioning devices that can be used to allow you to sit without putting pressure on the implant area.

  • Buttock implants are long-lasting and do not require routine replacement unless complications arise. However, like any implant, they may need to be revised or replaced over time due to changes in the body or personal preference.

  • You’ll need to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks for 2–3 weeks and sleep on your stomach or sides. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are expected initially, and most patients return to work in about 2–3 weeks, with full recovery taking 6–8 weeks.

  • A BBL uses your own fat to add volume and contour, while implants use solid silicone to create projection. Implants are ideal for leaner patients, while BBLs can also include body contouring from liposuction. In some cases, both can be combined for optimal results.
